Microsoft Flow now available to the public

Microsoft's IFTTT rival guns for the enterprise market

Microsoft has made available to the general public its rival to IFTTT called Flow. The service helps users automate common tasks across different apps and services.

Flow connects services such as Office 365, Slack, Dropbox,, Dynamics 365 and more, allowing enterprises to integrate different platforms more easily.

It was released on Public Preview in April, and Microsoft said 117,000 people in 61,000 organisations across 139 countries have used it since. On Monday, Microsoft said it would now be available to everyone, in 42 languages and six regions.

The new app offered by Microsoft is similar to other automation services such as IFTTT and Zapier. These services are aimed at making managing the movement of data between different apps easier for users, particularly in busy enterprise environments.

Among other things, it allows users to manage data transfer by team or geography. Through its Admin Centre, users will be able to create data-loss prevention policies and view the usage of services by its organisation flows.

In addition, users will be able to monitor their data from anywhere and receive push notification directly to their devices. They will also be able to use data from anywhere in their workflow, making accessing their messages, documents and information easier.

"Our goal is that Microsoft Flow helps users keep pace with their business needs in a secure and compliant way, while at the same time reducing the burden on IT," said Stephen Siciliano, principal group PM Manager of Microsoft Flow at Microsoft.

Microsoft Flow integrates with Office 365 and Dynamics. Microsoft said that it will add other new services that will work with Flow in the coming weeks.

Flow is available both in free and paid versions, according to what apps and services one wishes to integrate. Existing Preview customers will get a six-month free trial of the service's highest tier plan, and the service is already included with Office 365 or Dynamics 365 licences.
