Chris Baker has joined the firm as SVP and general manager of EMEA

Chris Baker has joined Box as SVP and general manager of EMEA as the cloud firm looks to expand its offering in Europe and the Middle East. Baker will be tasked with growing Box's international investment by identifying new opportunities in the EMEA region to pursue and coming up with ideas for expansion.

It's a key part of Box's wider strategy as it plans to grow rapidly across the world. He will be responsible for pushing many of the new innovations the cloud firm has recently launched in the region, including Box Zones with multizone support, Box Data Processing Addendum and BCR approval.

“Growth in international markets is fundamental to our long-term strategy,” said Stephanie Carullo, COO at Box. “We’re excited to welcome Chris to help drive our European business forward. His strong track record in delivering results, most recently at SAP Concur, and his experience in building vibrant, high-growth businesses across EMEA, will help him in our goal of expanding Box’s presence in this key region.”

Before joining Box, Baker was managing director at SAP Concur, where he was responsible for growing and leading its teams in UK, Ireland, France, Africa, Middle East, Nordics and Benelux.

One of his biggest achievements at the SaaS firm was tripling revenues for the division in two years, while concurrently managing hundreds of employees across the regions when Concur Technologies was acquired by SAP in September 2014.

“I’ve been watching Box for several years and see a great opportunity for driving growth in EMEA,” Baker commented. “Today businesses of all sizes are looking to become fully digital workplaces. Box’s strong product roadmap, forward-thinking vision, and company culture make it uniquely positioned to help customers on that journey. I am delighted to join at this exciting time.”
